Update. (Sept 17th 2012)
We have been bringing our 2 remaining boxer pups "on" as there is the possibility of flying one (or both girls) out to improve New Zealand Boxer stock to a knowledgeable boxer enthusiast on what is technically the other side of the world..
The advantage for those not in the know in having a slightly older pup is increased confidence, less anxieties, happier around children & the ability to leave them (secured) for a few hours at a time, & of course less frequent "accidents" ..both girls are "basically" toilet trained upon command & endeavour to hold themselves for long periods & overnight scenarios.
This often fits in far better with real life scenarios compared to a cute but especially needy 8 week old pup.
Both are as bright as a button & responsive to a handful of basic commands.
Puppy "Lily" would be our pick for a home with or without young children, she is a very responsive yet laid back & gentle girl much like her mother, in terms of personality, my husbands pick, everyone has time for her & she for them.
Whilst this is not 100% certain currently we would like to state that flying a dog is stressful for a young animal & another reason to let them grow a bit more in order they may take travelling in their stride!
All our pups are very used to car travel as part of their ongoing familial training.
Puppy Luna is the more boisterous of the two & will require slightly firmer handling (initially) still has a few rough edges which are lessening day by day! ...just a typical happy pup really!
We have been pushing the boundaries with regards to leaving the girls for longer periods (reflecting typical work life in a regular home) & currently hitting the 5 hour "home alone" mark ..very pleased with their progress along with lead training they are turning into model pups!
